Help us build a Better Burma
Myanmar is facing a severe humanitarian crisis, with over 18 million people in need of urgent assistance and nearly a million displaced due to ongoing conflict and military action, exacerbating the suffering of millions.
With your help, Better Burma is able to support the people of Myanmar through humanitarian aid and advocacy efforts.
Please consider supporting our cause at Better Burma to bring hope and essential resources to people of Myanmar. Your generosity can change lives!
Better Burma Supports Myanmar Through:
“The Golden Path” (Shwe Lan Ga Lay) is an invaluable guide for Dhamma seekers exploring spirituality in Myanmar. It offers both practical and inspirational insights into Burmese Buddhist life, including how to engage in practice (patipatti) and study (pariyatti). Through stories, historical context, beautiful artwork, and wisdom from revered monks, nuns, and meditation teachers, this guide serves as a companion for those looking to deepen their practice while in the Golden Land.
Better Burma is honored to support such a project, which mirrors our commitment to preserving and promoting the spiritual traditions of Myanmar. We encourage anyone inspired by this guide to download it freely. However, if you feel moved to support, we invite you to make a donation—whether small or large—towards helping the monastic community in Myanmar. Your generosity will aid initiatives like ours, which sustain these revered traditions and ensure the well-being of monks and nuns across the country.
Download for free and feel free to contribute any amount to support the community. Every little bit helps!

A Wider Mission: A Better Burma
Better Burma, a 501c3 nonprofit, was launched immediately following the Myanmar military’s violent seizure of power on February 1, 2021. We support a wide range of humanitarian missions, including providing vulnerable communities with access to medical supplies, food, clean water, shelter, and other basic necessities. We regularly support a number of IDP and refugee camps now in dire need, along with aiding the wider Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM), as well as to monks and nuns who do not have adequate food. If you have a specific cause you would like your donation earmarked towards, please contact us and we will make sure to direct it this way. Please note that donations go strictly to non-violent missions. Check out our Better Burma Blog to see some of our most recent projects.
In addition, we also produce a range of media projects, including podcasts and essays, to better inform those outside of Myanmar about what is really happening.
